I met Brittany and Shadley at a wedding I was photographing in 2017. They were both bridesmaids at this wedding and before I left the wedding that night, Brit asked me if I shot destination weddings. Excitedly, I responded, I assume, something like, “Ummm, absolutely! Oh my gosh, congratulations. I didn’t know you guys were engaged!” They weren’t, but they would be soon. They were so much fun, and I liked them so much, so I was basically just waiting for them to get engaged and contact me. Because they are seriously my dream clients. When they finally did message me, I’m pretty sure I squealed and fist pumped into the air (like you do.) Normal.
Brittany & Shadley got married at Secrets Playa Mujeres in Cancún, Mexico. Their wedding was intimate, but filled with people who loved them and who were so excited to celebrate their love. Their wedding day felt slow and sweet. Shadley and her girls hung out in and around the pool shotgunning beers while Brit and her girls got their hair and makeup done. Every moment from getting ready to the ceremony to even the Aggie song during the reception was so perfectly fit to who they are. Weddings often get bogged down in tradition and things you’re “supposed” to do. But, not this one. This one was 100% them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
They had possibly the sweetest first look ever, full of laughs, tears, and really intimate moments. My favorite thing about first looks is the time it gives me to step back and give you guys some time to just love on each other (which makes for some really authentic to you photos.) After their ceremony we ran away to the beach at sunset for a few minutes and took some portraits of them running around, dancing, and making out before they joined their reception.
Brittany and Shadley, I am so thankful for both of you. You guys are so dang beautiful together, and I feel so honored to have documented your love. Congrats babes.
