SHIPLAP! My second email from Kaitlyn contained the words, “OMG shiplap is our love language.” Obviously, their venue Five Oaks Farm in Cleburne, Texas was the perfect venue for their wedding. It’s a gorgeous white barn venue (they technically have two barns now) filled with shiplap inside and out. They love love love Joanna Gaines and her work was a source of inspiration as they planned their wedding. Every little detail from their florals to the Jenga guest book felt like it perfectly belonged.
Oh and they left in a helicopter! What?!?
Kaitlyn and Kimber, I wish you all the happiness in the world. Your wedding was such a blessing to be a part of. You were the first LGBTQ couple to entrust me to document your love story, and I am forever grateful for that gift.

- Their entire wedding day Kaitlyn was followed around by lady bugs that kept landing on her. Indoors or out, it didn’t matter. I’m pretty sure that’s a sign of good luck.

- Kaitlyn and Kimber decided that they wanted to do a first look and oh I am so glad that they did. Their love is so endearing. Kaitlyn couldn’t stop laughing and smiling and Kimber cried happy tears through sweet smiles. It was a perfect first look in my opinion. It also meant that they set aside 30 minutes before the ceremony for couple portraits and that was freaking awesome.
