Emily & Ricky 10.13.17

Emily and I met at the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas my sophomore year of college. One day, in our editorial journalism class while we were working on a group project, someone in the group asked if I could take photos for the story because I was a photographer. Emily looked me dead in the eye and said, “Hey Whitney, you are going to be my wedding photographer one day.” Then she showed me her new engagement ring.

Fast forward to what feels like a million years later, and here I was pulling up to The Orchard wedding venue in Azle, TX to be Emily’s wedding photographer. Emily and Ricky got married on Friday, October 13. That’s right, Friday the 13th. Which if you know the makes a ton of sense. Emily and Ricky are super nerdy, in the best way and they also loooooove Halloween.

Emily’s dress is one of a kind from Whirling Turban, created just for her big day. The broach in her bouquet and later pinned on her dress was her late grandmother’s and was her way of keeping her grandmother with her on her wedding day.

Dearest Emily and Ricky, I am eternally grateful that you choose to let me celebrate and document this sweet day for you friends.
