I had the honor of photographing Aimee & CJ’s wedding one year ago. They contacted me and asked me to do a one year anniversary shoot with them and, guys, I had no idea how magical it was going to be.

Sunday morning before the sun even thought about rising I hopped in my jeep and drove down some of my favorite country roads, blaring Taylor Swift, and singing my heart out. Aimee & CJ got married at the gorgeous, Stonebridge Wedding Venue in Blum, TX, and Aimee really wanted to do their anniversary photos their too. Because, seriously, the property is huge and insanely gorgeous.

We pulled in just before the sun started to rise and it was 50-something degrees in Texas in August. What? They slow danced and laughed the sunrise in together. One of my favorite things about their relationship is how much they make each other laugh.

Towards the end of our shoot, Aimee slipped back into her wedding dress and they ate the top tier of their wedding cake under the same tree they said “I do” under just a year earlier. It was the sweetest, most romantic thing. They just relived their wedding day for a little bit. I think that’s something we all could use a little more of.
